Ingredients
250g plain flour
a pinch of salt
21/2 teaspoons baking powder
100g tahini
100g caster sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
50g dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces
60g sesame seeds mixed with 40g sugar
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 170C
- Sift the flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl. In another bowl, beat the tahini and sugar together until creamy, then add the eggs gradually while beating.
- Add the vanilla and continue to beat until pale and creamy. Fold in the dry ingredients until everything is just combined and a uniform dough has formed. Mix in the chocolate pieces.
- Take small bits of the dough, about the size of a walnut, and roll between your palms to form a ball. Flatten slightly and roll into the sesame seeds and sugar. Place on a lined baking tray and bake in the oven for 15 minutes. The biscuits may be a touch soft when you check them, but they will harden as they cool.
