Ingredients

  • 250g plain flour

  • a pinch of salt

  • 21/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 100g tahini

  • 100g caster sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 50g dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces

  • 60g sesame seeds mixed with 40g sugar

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 170C
  • Sift the flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl. In another bowl, beat the tahini and sugar together until creamy, then add the eggs gradually while beating.
  • Add the vanilla and continue to beat until pale and creamy. Fold in the dry ingredients until everything is just combined and a uniform dough has formed. Mix in the chocolate pieces.
  • Take small bits of the dough, about the size of a walnut, and roll between your palms to form a ball. Flatten slightly and roll into the sesame seeds and sugar. Place on a lined baking tray and bake in the oven for 15 minutes. The biscuits may be a touch soft when you check them, but they will harden as they cool.
